Fastener Generator
add-on
Place bolts and fasteners with a visual library and six layouts
Add fasteners in a few clicks
Fastener Generator helps you add mechanical detail to hard-surface models with a visual library of 12 fastener types and six placement modes.
Choose your fastener
Pick from image previews: hex bolts, socket screws, rivets, nuts, washers, sci-fi fasteners, slotted and Phillips bolts, pan-head screws, and rounded self-tappers.
Six placement modes
Corners — place fasteners at the corners of a planar region.
Edges — distribute fasteners along selected edges or surface boundaries.
Grid — create an evenly spaced layout on a planar surface.
Random — scatter fasteners with a repeatable seed and minimum spacing.
Around Hole — follow a selected closed edge loop.
Along Curve — distribute fasteners along a curve.
Adjust settings live
Change fastener type, size, spacing, count, rotation, depth and optional washers. Existing placements update immediately.
Select a mounting surface with a click, preview your placement, and refine it with Undo/Redo and a reset-to-defaults control.
Quick start
- Open the Fasteners tab in the 3D View sidebar.

Select any generated fastener later to edit its batch.
Compatibility and scope
Tested in Blender 5.2.2 LTS on Windows. The package declares Blender 4.2 as its minimum API version; other versions and operating systems have not been runtime verified.
Designed for visual modeling, with fixed fastener proportions and decorative threads. It is not an engineering-standard fastener library.
Corners and Grid require a planar selection. Around Hole requires a closed edge loop. External source geometry changes can be refreshed using F3 → Refresh Source Geometry.
