Variant Matrix Studio
add-on
Generate static mesh SKU variants from typed Geometry Nodes CSV inputs. Validate socket bounds, retain original generators and store provenance. Original example included. Tested on Windows x64, Blender 4.5.15 and 5.2.3.
Turn a typed CSV and one Geometry Nodes generator into independently editable static mesh SKU variants, with validated inputs, source-change guards and per-variant provenance.
What the workflow deliversMap explicit Geometry Nodes socket identifiers to typed CSV columns, validate all rows and bounds, freeze independently evaluated variants with named output collections, variant metadata and actual mesh statistics without editing the original generator.
Try the included exampleThe original ribbed enclosure node group exposes Width, Depth, Height, Ribs and Tint. variants.csv defines six SKUs. Generate actual meshes; the product photo rearranges the delivered meshes into two rows and hides the source only for presentation. That photo layout is not an automatic generation feature.
Actual prepared-example result: 6 variants; 9,776 triangles; source generator retained
Included- Native Blender extension ZIP with GPL-3.0-or-later Python source.
- Original portable .blend example and relevant recipe/resource fixtures.
- Illustrated offline guide, reference, troubleshooting, changelog and verification notes.
- Local readable HTML / JSON / CSV reports where applicable.
Verified on Windows x64, Blender 4.5.15 LTS and 5.2.3 LTS. Other operating systems and versions have not been independently tested. No external Python, pip installation, activation or network account is required.
Scope and limits
CSV at most 1 MiB. Default 100 variants, maximum 500. Default 2,000,000 total triangles; maximum 5,000,000, and at most 5,000 captured mesh components per row. Exactly one local mesh generator. Original object/material/collection socket references remain; overriding those socket types is unsupported.
Delivery limitations
Static current viewport geometry. No automatic UVs, animation/rig export, texture packaging or target-engine export. Materials/images remain references. Procedural instance-context shading may require explicit propagation/realization in a reviewed source copy. Preview X spacing is a simple configurable offset, not automatic grid packing.
Save a backup and review outputs. Reports and project snapshots can contain private paths/data; inspect them before sharing. No universal compatibility, speed, artistic correctness, independent quality rating or sales outcome is claimed.
