Get this sceneHi, large scale natural landspace | blender cycles
A large-scale natural landscape scene built with a focus on realism, detail, and efficient scene optimization.
The environment features two distinct mountains, both modeled from scratch in Blender, along with two different terrain formations manually shaped using Sculpt Mode. Realistic terrain textures were carefully combined and separated across the elevation and surface variations to create more natural transitions and believable ground detail.
A procedurally generated rocky road runs through the hills, created using Geometry Nodes to naturally follow the terrain.
The vegetation is built using three different approaches:
• Custom 3D trees, modeled directly in Blender for the main foreground areas.
• Proxy-based trees combined with Geometry Nodes, used to efficiently populate the distant hills with dense vegetation.
• Alpha-based tree cards, placed mainly across the background hills to maintain visual density while keeping the scene optimized.
Grass and rocks using proxy assets, along with flowers distributed through Geometry Nodes, add additional layers of detail and natural variation throughout the landscape.
The sky and lighting are created using the Nishita Sky Texture. The atmospheric component is especially important for achieving this particular lighting, depth, and sense of scale.
The clouds were created using volumetric techniques to add atmospheric depth and realism to the environment.
The entire scene was rendered in Cycles at high quality. However, you can also render it at 60% resolution and still achieve a very convincing result while significantly reducing render time.
Some modifiers are disabled by default for convenience and easier scene handling.
Built with a balance between realism, procedural workflows, artistic control, and optimization, making the scene suitable for both high-quality renders and efficient production workflows.
