Seamless Mesh Blend
add-on
Blend materials between separate objects in Blender. Create natural transitions between rocks, terrain and other surfaces with simple controls and a reversible workflow.
Make every surface belong.
Seamless Mesh Blend creates natural-looking material transitions between separate mesh objects. Blend rocks into terrain, soften material boundaries and combine several transitions through a simple interface.
Simple controls
- Width controls the reach of the transition.
- Strength balances the original and transferred materials.
- Noise adds variation to the transition edge.
- Enable Effect lets you compare the result with the original appearance.
Multiple transitions, independent control
Add several transitions to the same object and adjust each separately. Combine rock, ground and water materials while keeping your mesh objects separate.
Reversible workflow
Original mesh topology and UV layers are preserved. Remove individual transitions while retaining the others, or remove all transitions to restore the original materials.
Quick start
Select the receiving mesh first, then Shift-select the donor surface last. Open N → Seamless Blend, click Create Blend, and adjust the result in Material Preview or Rendered shading.
Compatibility
Requires Blender 5.2 or later. Tested on Blender 5.2.3 LTS for Windows.
Cycles is recommended for complex materials and multiple transitions. Eevee supports simpler setups, but complex layered shaders can exceed its attribute limits.
Many common image-based and procedural surface materials are supported. Compatibility with every third-party shader is not guaranteed. Supported socket animation is preserved; advanced animation setups have restrictions.
Only the donor’s Surface shader is transferred. Donor Volume and Displacement are not copied. Texture projection works best with repeating rock and soil materials; unique images and decals may repeat or misalign.
The effect changes material appearance. It does not merge geometry, fill gaps or simulate fluids.
