I’d like to share this autumn mountain road scene I recently finished using Blender, Substance Painter, SpeedTree, and Gaea.
The landscape and dirt path were sculpted in Blender, combining several textures for the ground surface and several others for the road itself. The coniferous trees and grasses lining the trail were generated in SpeedTree and Blender. I also used card trees in the distance, made in Blender, to improve performance.
The distant cabin was modeled and textured from scratch using Blender and Substance Painter. For the background, I used Gaea to generate the snowy mountains. The volumetric clouds and atmospheric haze were built within Blender, and the smoke VDB from the cabin's chimney was also fully simulated and created with Blender's smoke simulator.
To make viewport navigation easier, I’ve reduced the number of active instances and objects. When you render, it will load all the detailed assets to produce the image shown in thumbnail.jpg. If you experience performance drops, unpacking the resources should help smooth things out.
Everything was assembled in Blender and rendered with Cycles.
I hope you enjoy exploring the scene!
