Release notes 3.10.0 πŸ”—

In this release, we've focused on fixing bugs and improving existing features to enhance your Blender 3D experience. Let's explore what's new and see how these updates can streamline your workflow in 3D modeling.

Improvements πŸ”—

πŸ›‘ Download Preview Enhancement - The download preview (box+thumbnail) in the 3D viewport now includes a convenient cancel button for download termination. #902

πŸ“ Dynamic Tooltip Scaling - Improved tooltip size scaling to dynamically adapt when the Blender window size changes. #916

πŸ–±οΈ Asset Placement Box Rotation Tip - Added a helpful tip about using the mouse wheel to rotate the asset placement box by 90 degrees during drag-and-drop operations. #947

Bug fixes πŸ”—

πŸ”„ Replace Active Model Fixed - The Replace Active Model feature in Blendkit (formerly BlenderKit) for Blender 3D was experiencing errors due to API changes in Blender 4. We've updated the 'delete_hierarchy' function to ensure compatibility with both Blender 4 and Blender 3, resolving these issues. #970

🌌 Enhanced Assetbar and Download Stability: Improved exception handling and fixed issues in the 'try_finished_append' function, along with optimized downloader support for HDRIs and similar assets in the Blender.

πŸ› οΈ Asset Upload Error Handling Improved - Fixed a bug where a non-existing thumbnail path resulted in a vague error. Now, users receive a specific notification that the file on the thumbnail filepath does not exist. #775

πŸ–ΌοΈ Enhanced Download Preview Management - Fixed an issue where the download preview (box and thumbnail) lingered in the 3D viewport after a failed asset import. It now shows an error message and disappears promptly. #913

πŸ”‘ API Key Pasting in Blendkit Preferences - Pasting an API key into Blendkit preferences now triggers profile fetch and other necessary processes, aligning with the browser login functionality. #918

πŸ“ Fixed Popup Tip - Previously, changing the workspace in Blendkit could cause an error with the startup popup displaying tips and announcements. This issue has been addressed by ensuring the modal operator finishes correctly when 'context.area' is None or False, effectively resolving the problem. #958

πŸ›‘οΈTooltip Image Stability - Addressed the issue of tooltip images disappearing, ensuring a consistent user interface experience. #688

🐞 Dependencies Error Now Displays Correct Information - In the Blendkit add-on, the function in 'daemon_lib' for locating dependencies was mistakenly calling non-existent functions in some scenarios, complicating the debugging of dependency issues. We have corrected this, and the error message now appropriately calls and displays the correct information. #966
