Blendkit 3.1.6 release 🔗

First of all, logged-in users are now able to comment on assets directly in Blender. Making it much easier and faster to publish a compliment or suggestion to the creator of the precious asset. It also makes the validation process much faster for all beloved creators as the communication with Blendkit’s (formerly BlenderKit) validators can be realized privately in the environment we all love and use - in the Blender itself.

Beside that we have made the maximum resolution option for imports to be permanent as was requested by the Blendkit community. And so there is no longer need to tweak import resolution all the time.

We are grateful for all your great suggestions on our GitHub issue tracking page which helps us to make the Blendkit even better. Thank you so much!

Our add-on development team also implemented several smaller improvements and bug fixes based on your reports and our findings. To check them all or to download the add-on you can check the 3.1.6 release page and notes.

Bug fixes 🔗

  • Errors from searches are handled in better way
  • Fixed that manual install could lead to errors if Blender was not restarted
  • Fixed: menu bar overlaps asset thumbnails
  • Fixed: Import Method Max Resolution doesn't stick

Update warning for Windows systems 🔗

Only applies for auto-updates from version lower than 3.1.4. For updates on Windows please be aware of broken auto-updater in 3.1.1 and 3.1.3 which will lead to failing automatic installation of 3.1.6 (more information at: #131). In order to install 3.1.6 from 3.1.1 and 3.1.3 we strongly advice to remove 3.1.1 or 3.1.3 and install 3.1.6 manually from .zip file. This way you will skip the auto-updater bug and will have clean and working installation of 3.1.6.

As the bug was fixed in 3.1.4, auto-updates from 3.1.4 and 3.1.5 to 3.1.6 are working as expected. We are deeply sorry for inconvenience caused by 3rd party library for automatic updates.

There are also hundreds of new assets every month. Don't forget to check them all out in our gallery.
