The Globe itself is intended to rotate forwards and backwards on the X-axis, instead of clockwise or counterclockwise on the Y-axis like other globes. The map itself is slightly modified from a genuine public-domain 1615 cloth "Globe Gore" found in the Library of Congress collection.
