Prussian Supply Cart & 6hp 1842

The Prussian ammunition wagon (Munitionswagen) with limber, modeled after the "Construction of 1842" (C/42), reflects the equipment of the Prussian field and mounted artillery following the post-Napoleonic reorganization of Prussian ordnance. The C/42 material replaced the earlier System 1816 and equipped the 6- and 12-pounder cannons as well as the 7-pounder howitzers then in Prussian service.

The wagon's iron-bound wooden crates were built to carry reserve ammunition and equipment, secured with reinforced lids and lockable fittings to protect the contents from weather and unauthorized access during transport. According to the original 1842 construction plans, the design initially provided for pack horses as an additional means of transport; this was abandoned before the type entered regular service, reportedly due to the excessive physical strain placed on the animals.

The C/42 material saw only a limited period of unmodified service: several undersized components required reinforcement soon after introduction, leading to the follow-up material C/49. Vehicles of this type remained in Prussian service into the early 1860s, before being gradually superseded by the rifled breech-loading ordnance (C/61) introduced from 1861 onward.

The model comprises over 300 movable parts, including crates that can be opened.
